David P. Lewis - Director
- With a background in international business, law and IT throughout Asia Pacific, Europe and the US , David brings significant experience to the team.
- Founder of The DLA Group (an IT Consulting, Software Development and Distribution company). DLA’s clients include many multi-nationals and vertical market software development groups many of whom rely on DLA for strategic IT advice, technical support and knowledge management software. Over 800 companies are clients of DLA in South East Asia . DLA provides strategic advice to many major corporations, government instrumentalities and professional bodies on the effective implementation of IT throughout the world.
- During 1999-2000 David acquired and moved a software company to California.
This company attempted to gain a foothold in the US and sought US based
funding. Whilst seed funding was provided in Australia by both DLA and Apple
Computer, attempts to attract US funding was unsuccessful and DLA exited
from that investment. David lived in San Francisco from November 1999 until
June 2000.
- From January to June 2001, David assumed a consulting position of Principal
Strategy Advisor to the US-owned, Hong Kong-based emaimai.com to assist with
the transformation of a Chinese language on-line auction site into an
international mobile payment (m-commerce) service, utilizing existing assets
and technology delivering a new digital verification service for wireless
payments.
- In October 2009 David joined The AFG Venture Group as an Associate and will head the intellectual property advisory group and will be based in London from December.
- AFG Venture Group is an Asia and Australia
based corporate advisory and consulting firm which combines the skills and
experience of the Asean Focus Group, with its 20 year history of creating
alliances, relationships and transactions in South East Asia and India; and
Venture Group with its 14 year history of corporate and equities advisory in
Australia, undertaking merger, acquisition, divestment, fund raising and
consulting for private and public companies.
- SCG was formed in late 2001 and in 2003 SCG made a substantial investment in INSiTE.com.au.
Tony & David are assisting with rapid growth of that company.
